# Install (/docs/install)



[Sign in to Cento](https://app.cento.sh) first, then follow the installation step
in onboarding. Choose the operating system of the computer you want to connect.

When prompted, open the approval link and confirm the connection in your browser.
Then return to Cento to create your first workspace.

  The installer downloads and verifies Cento, then runs `cento host install` to:

  1. Install the background service that runs your workspaces.
  2. Set it to start automatically when you log in to your computer.
  3. Link the computer to your account with your approval.
  4. Start the service and check that everything is ready.

  Running the installer again leaves a healthy installation in place. If you need
  help connecting your computer, see [pairing](/docs/pairing) or
  [troubleshooting](/docs/troubleshooting).
